Portuguese name for a special long-stretched boat type with which the base wines for the port wine from the Douro Valley to the postage Suburb of Vila Nova de Gaia. For the most part, these boats only sailed downstream with the current flowing, but rarely sailed. Upstream, the boats were mostly grazed. Today, they have almost no meaning and serve mainly tourism purposes. They lie before the Lodges (Wineries) of port wineries or take part in historical regattas.
