Raki

Name for a brandy from the Turkey and Albania that is fermented, dried grapes will be produced. He goes through a two-time distillation, The second time becomes part anise for the purpose of flavoring added, which is not obligatory. In Turkey it is the most popular and most consumed alcoholic beverage. The raki is traditionally diluted with water and gets through the anise as the Greek ouzo a white, milky color ( Ouzo effect ). He is considered indispensable aperitif specially enjoyed with the appetizers (mezeler). By far the largest share of the production has gone to the wine and spirits multi Mey Içki Sanayi with the brand "Yeni Raki" (see Tekel ).
