The winery is located in the municipality of Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg in the German wine-growing region of Nahe. Erich-Wilhelm and Ursel Rapp developed it from a former mixed agricultural business into a quality-oriented winery by purchasing and leasing good vineyards. Today, Walter Rapp is responsible for the winery. A guest house is attached. The vineyards cover eight hectares of vineyards in the Köhler-Köpfchen, Luisengarten, Schlossberg and Stephansberg (Ebernburg), as well as Rotenberg (Altenbamberg) sites. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling (50%), Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Gris, Scheurebe, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc and Kerner, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Dornfelder. In the vineyard, great importance is attached to promoting soil fertility by, for example, cultivating the short-term and long-term cover crop. The wines are matured under temperature control in traditional oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced.
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
