Rastajola

The red grape variety comes from Italy. Synonyms are Durera, Rastagliola and Restajola. It should not be confused with the Erbaluce Nero or Neretto Duro varieties because of apparent synonyms or morphological similarities. The medium ripening vine is susceptible to small berries (millerandage) and downy mildew. It was once widespread in the north of Piedmont. Today, it is grown in the province of Novara only in small quantities and is mainly used as a blend. In 2016, however, no stocks were recorded (statistics Kym Anderson).
