Ready-to-drink

Term (RTD) for alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks that are "ready to drink". These are ready-mixed cocktails that were marketed as early as the end of the 19th century, for example by the Heublein company under the brand name "Club Cocktails". Today, they are alternatively referred to as alcopops.

Readyto-Drink - Gläser und Marken

The French winery Château Capendu in the Corbières region (Languedoc) bottles wine in special wine glasses with this designation. The glasses are made of transparent, shatterproof PET plastic and have a volume of 187 millilitres (1.5 eighths). They are sealed with aluminium foil, which is easy to remove. The winery guarantees that the same wines are bottled in these glasses as in the 0.75 litre bottles. See also under alcoholic beverages.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
