Reichestal

single vineyard in the municipality of Hochheim in the German wine-growing region of Rheingau. The name indicates a particularly fertile soil and a particularly warm and balanced microclimate, which allows ideal ripening conditions for the grapes until autumn. The south-facing vineyards at an altitude of 90 to 120 metres above sea level with a slope of 5 to 10% cover 28 hectares of vineyards. They are located at the confluence of the Rhine and Main rivers. The sandy-gravelly drift sand and loess loam soils are interspersed with marl. They warm up very quickly and ensure early flowering. The Riesling and Pinot Noir varieties are mainly cultivated here. The wineries Bott Michael, Domdechant Werner'sches Weingut, Himmel Emmerich, Künstler Gunter and Rebenhof Willi Orth, for example, have shares in the site.
