The "Reinecker Privat-Sektkellerei" is located in the municipality of Auggen (Markgräflerland area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. Winegrowing is mentioned here as early as the time of Charlemagne (742-814) and wine has always been produced in the family's vaulted cellar. The farm is run by Herbert Reinecker, a graduate engineer in viticulture and cellar management. The vineyards cover 3.15 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Letten and Schäf (Auggen). They are planted with the varieties Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Only healthy, hand-picked grapes are pressed slowly and very gently. The grapes are pressed with a yield of 65%, the rest discarded. The wines destined for sparkling wine processing are vinified separately by vineyard in small fermentation tanks. Only 10 to 20% of the best wines ferment in small, mostly older oak barrels. After countless tastings, the wines are assigned to their respective cuvées. The flagship of the house is the "Cuvée Classic Brut", which is blended from the classic Champagne varieties Chardonnay (50-60%), Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier from the best sites. To maintain consistency, 5 to 10% exclusive reserve wines from older vintages are added to the cuvée. This sparkling wine matures on the yeast for at least two years.
