Reinhartshausen Castle

The estate is located in the municipality of Erbach in the German wine-growing region Rheingau, In the 12th century, the headquarters of the Knights of Erbach stood on the site of today's castle. The subsequent owners were the Knights of Allendorf for over 400 years, who founded winegrowing in 1337. At the end of the 18th century the property was taken over by the Barons Langwerth of Simmern taken over and went to the Counts of Westphalen in 1800. It is located in front of Reinhartshausen Castle and extends in a westerly direction to the municipality of Hattenheim. The vineyards cover 24 hectares of vines on alluvial gravel and floodplain of the European nature reserve with special climatic conditions favorably influenced by the current. They are planted with Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The winery produces around 350,000 bottles of wine annually.
