Reinprecht Hugo

The winery is located in the cadastral district of Grinzing in the 19th district of Döbling in the north-west of Wien. The Reinprecht, Hauermandl and Weinbottich wine taverns are attached. The traditional business is run by Hugo and Britta Reinprecht. Since 1998 Hugo Reinprecht has been president of the Châine des Rotisseurs, probably the world's largest gourmet guild, and for the past ten years he has been president of the Veranstalter-Verband Österreich with 52,000 members. The world-famous operetta composer and conductor Professor Robert Stolz (1880-1975) was inspired to write the Viennese song "Ich bin in Grinzing einheimisch" ("I am native to Grinzing") at his local wine tavern. One attraction is the largest and oldest collection of corkscrews in Europe. The vineyards cover 20 hectares in the best vineyards around Grinzing. They are 80% planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Goldburger, Sauvignon Blanc, Frühroter Veltliner, Welschriesling, Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris), Gemischter Satz, and 20% with the red wine varieties Blauburgunder (Pinot Noir) and Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery is a member of Vienna Classic.
