Riede or Lage (also Leber) in the municipality of Weißenkirchen in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Wachau, It was already mentioned in 1236 as "Ritzinger" and in 1301 as "Ritzling". The name derives from the eponymous hamlet (place) or Bach. After an old legend was here at Danube a Riesling vine washed ashore. This was formerly the origin of the locals Riesling derived. But this contradicts the current state of knowledge. The location includes several vineyards in close proximity to the town of Weißenkirchen. The south-facing vineyards at 202 to 226 meters above sea level have only 6% slope Tilt on and cover over 15 hectares of vineyards.
