Riviera Ligure di Ponente

DOC area for white and red wines in the Italian region of Liguria. The large zone The geographical coastal region is a section of the Italian Riviera on the Gulf of Genoa of the Ligurian Sea. It extends west from Genoa to the French border at Ventimiglia. The zone comprises the largest western part with the provinces of Genoa (2 municipalities), Imperia (67 municipalities) and Savona (46 municipalities). The subzones will be on label according to the DOC designation Riviera Ligure di Ponente. When using the subzones, not all types of wine exist. In the subzone Quiliano only the Granaccia is produced and in the subzone Taggia only the Moscato. In the other subzones there are Pigato, Rossese and Vermentino. The varietal wines are pressed with a high proportion of the respective variety. These are the three white wines Moscato Bianco ( Muscat Blanc ) - as well Frizzante. Vendemmia tardiva u.
