French term (Engl. colour or dress) for the colour of mostly a red wine (in the narrower sense Burgundy wine) in the context of a wine address. Although this actually only means "colour" in a value-free way, this term stands for a positive expression in terms of colour power, brilliance and intensity. See also under colour, as well as blue, black and white.
Red tones: Norbert F. J. Tischelmayer
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
