The "Reh Kendermann Weinkellerei GmbH" has its headquarters in Bingen (Rhine Hesse). Administration, management, sales, winery, bottling, domestic wine storage and export are located here. Other locations are in Böchingen, Leiwen and Gau-Bickelheim. Philipp Closheim and Steffan Haub as winemakers and Harald Kroll as cellar master are responsible for the production. The company emerged from the merger of the Carl Reh and Hermann Kendermann wineries. Carl Reh (1898-1962) founded the "trading company for grapes, must and wine" in Leiwen on the Moselle in 1920. The founder's grandson of the same name took over in 1987 and in 1992 the “Hermann Kendermann GmbH” in Bingen and thus the successful brand “Black Tower” was bought. The current company was born through the merger of the two wineries in 1999 and has been managed by the third generation. The company celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2010.
Cold fermentation was introduced in 1995 as the first winery in Germany. From 1996, a consistent quality system was established, from the vineyard to the bottle. The company is ISO 9001 certified and produces according to the requirements of HACCP system, In 2001, 350 hectares of vines were acquired in Little Wallachia (Romania), 252 hectares were replanted and the “Carl Reh Winery” was founded in Oprisor.
