The winery is located in the municipality Gols
in the Burgenland wine region Lake Neusiedl
(Austria). It was built by the Schmelzer family. In 1994, Lorenz Schmelzer III. the business to his niece Elisabeth Rommer (born Nittnaus), which she runs as cellar master together with her husband Michael (responsible for the vineyards). In 1995, some important and valuable vineyard facilities and arable land were overwritten as inheritance by the parents' house in Nittnaus.
