The white grape variety (also Freiburg 991-60) is a new breed between Seyve-Villard 12-375 ( Villard Blanc ) x Siegerrebe, The crossing of the hybrid was done in 1960 by Dr. John carpenter (1907-1998) at the State Wine Institute Freiburg (Baden-Württemberg). The medium to late ripening vine is mainly used as table grape and Zierrebe used. In Germany no stocks were shown in 2010. Amazingly, it is said to be a wine grape in the US state Iowa be used.
