Rosso di Montepulciano

DOC area for red wine in the Italian region Tuscany, The zone comprises part of the municipality of Montepulciano in the province of Siena. From the 2019 vintage, the designation was changed to label supplemented with "Toscana". This is to avoid confusion with DOCG wine Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane (Abruzzo) can be excluded. The wine is made from the Sangiovese clone Prugnolo Gentile (70%) and other approved varieties (max. 30%, of which max. 10% are white varieties). With much stricter conditions, one of the most famous Italian red wines, the DOCG wine Vino Nobile di Montepulciano produced.
