Rothe Manfred

The winery is located in the municipality Nordheim in the German wine-growing region Franconia, It was cultivated since 1980 as a sideline and from 2002 in the main occupation. The company is managed by Manfred Rothe. The vineyards cover ten hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Kreuzberg and little bird (Nordheim) Carthusian (Astheim) Katzenkopf (Sommerach) and calf (Iphofen). They are planted with the white varieties Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, Bacchus, Scheurebe, Helios, Pinot Gris, Rieslaner, Kerner and Muscaris, as well as with the red varieties Schwarzriesling, Domina, Pinot Noir, Blauer Zweigelt and Regent. All wines are produced according to the principle "organic, fair and vegan". Almost all wines will be spontaneous fermented. The white wines go through one maceration, The red wines are aged in 500-liter wooden barrels 12 months. As a special feature since the year 2013 Orange Wines in amphorae (Kvevri) modeled after the Cachetic method (Georgia) produced. The premium wines include the Orange Wine "Indigenius" (Silvaner) and the wines of the "Grande" line from old vines. Every year, 60,000 bottles of wine are produced. It also produces fine spirits from own orchards and vinegar. The winery is a member of Bioland, Island wine maker and organic & fair.
