Royal de Alloza

The red grape variety originates from northeastern Spain. Synonyms are Alloza, Arino, Derechero and Derechero de Muniesa. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2018, it comes from a presumably natural cross between Hebén x unknown partner. The vine yields fruity, dark-colored red wines with aromas of cherries and black berries. It is grown in small quantities in the area surrounding the namesake municipality of Alloza in the province of Teruel in Aragon. In 2016, six hectares of vines were reported (Kym Anderson statistics).
