The red variety is a new breed between Cabernet Sauvignon x Saperavi (what happened in 2010 DNA analysis was confirmed). Synonyms are Crossing 56, Magarach 56, Magaracha Rubinovyi, Magaracha Ruby, Magarach Rubinovy, Magarach Ruby, Rubinovi Magaraca, Rubinovyi Magaracha, Ruby Magaracha. The crossing took place in 1928 by N. Paponov, V. Zotov, P. Tsarev and P. Golodriga at the wine-growing institute Magarach in the Crimea (Ukraine). The variety protection was granted in 1969. She was crossing partner in the new breeds Antey Magarachsky and Ruby Golodrigi, The late-ripening, high-yielding vine is resistant to frost and drought, It produces fruity, bright red wines and is also for table grapes and grape juice used. The variety is in the Ukraine. Kazakhstan (0.5 ha) and Uzbekistan grown. However, in 2010 only less than one hectare was reported (Kym Anderson ).
