The red grape variety (also Rouene) is a new breed between Chiroka Melnichka ( Shiroka Melnishka ) x Cabernet Sauvignon what happened through 2004 DNA analysis has been confirmed. The cross was made in 1951 by the breeder K. Stoev in Bulgaria, The late-ripening vine is relatively resistant to Botrytis, It produces vivid, full-bodied, velvety red wines with aromas of red fruits and storage potential. The variety is cultivated in the southwest of the country. In 2008, eight hectares of vineyards were recorded here (ex Wine grapes ); in Kym's statistics Anderson however, no holdings were reported in 2010.
