The white grape variety (also Weinsberg S 385, WE S 385) is a new breed between Ruländer ( Pinot Gris x Riesling, The crossing took place in 1955 through August herald (1902-1973) at the State Teaching and Research Institute vineyard in Württemberg. The name derives from the parents' initial and final syllables. The variety protection was granted in 1985. The late-ripening vine yields a strong white wine. There are only very few stocks; in 2010, however, no stock was reported (Kym Anderson ).
