The white grape variety (also Weinsberg S 385, WE S 385) is a new breed between Ruländer ( Pinot gris ) x Riesling, The crossing took place in August 1955 herald (1902-1973) at the State Teaching and Research Institute vineyard in Württemberg. The name is derived from the parents' starting and ending syllables. The variety protection was granted in 1985. The late ripening vine produces a strong white wine. There are only minimal stocks; in 2010, however, no stock was shown (Kym Anderson ).
