Ruthe

single vineyard in the municipality of Schwaigern (Württembergisch Unterland area) in the German wine-growing region of Württemberg. It was first mentioned in 1385; the name refers to the clearing that took place at that time. The parcels at the foot of the slope belong to the neighbouring Grafenberg vineyard. The steeply terraced vineyard, which faces south to south-southwest at an altitude of 246 to 307 metres above sea level with a slope of 20 to 40%, covers seven hectares of vineyards. The Siegelsberg, which stretches above the hilltop, protects against cold north and west winds. The soil consists of gypsum keuper with intercalations of coloured marl in the upper area and sandstone in the area of the slope debris. Riesling, Lemberger (Blaufränkisch) and Pinot Noir are cultivated here. The Graf Neipperg winery is the sole owner of the site.
