single vineyard (also Saarfeilser for short) in the municipality of Schoden (Saar area) in the German Moselle wine-growing region. The name refers to an image of the Virgin Mary that used to exist here. The vineyard, which faces south-east to south-south-east and borders directly on the Saar, has a slope of 30 to 40% and comprises 3.3 hectares of vines on grey slate soil. Here, mainly the Riesling variety is cultivated. The Nik Weis - St. Urbans-Hof winery, for example, has a share in the site.
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
