Saint-Andéol

Independent commune area with the four municipalities of Bourg-Saint-Andéol, Saint-Just-d'Ardèche, Saint-Marcel-d'Ardèche and Saint-Martin-d'Ardèche in the Département Ardèche in the southern French appellation Côtes du Rhône-Villages (see the AOC regulations there). The name may additionally since 2018 on the label cited, but this applies only to the red wines. Viticulture goes back here to the Romans. The vineyards are on the right bank of the Rhone on sandy alluvial soils with inclusions of clay, lime and pebbles. The climate is characterized by the cool Mistral, which blows through the river valley.
