Independent communal area with the four communes of Bourg-Saint-Andéol, Saint-Just-d'Ardèche, Saint-Marcel-d'Ardèche and Saint-Martin-d'Ardèche in the département of Ardèche in the Côtes du Rhône-Villages appellation in the south of France. Since 2018, the name may also appear on the label, although this only applies to red wines. Viticulture here dates back to the Romans. The vineyards are located on the right bank of the Rhône on sandy alluvial soils with inclusions of clay, limestone and pebbles. The climate is characterised by the cool north wind, the Mistral, which blows through the river valley.
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
