The appellation Languedoc Saint-Drézéry is located in the east of the French winegrowing region Languedoc, It was classified as AOC in 1972 and belongs to the second quality category "Grands Vins du Languedoc". The wine was already known at the royal court of Versailles. The vineyards are located at 70 to 160 meters above sea level on soils of sandstone, pebbles and marl. They extend around the eponymous community in the department Hérault, The red wine is made from at least 2 of the 3 main varieties Grenache Noir ( Garnacha Tinta ), Mourvèdre ( Monastrell ) and Syrah, as well as Carignan Noir ( mazuelo ) and Cinsault blended.
