Independent municipal area in the Département Gard in the southern French appellation Côtes du Rhône-Villages (see the AOC regulations there) Since 1974, the commune named after a patron saint has been allowed to use the name on the label. The vineyards cover 140 hectares of vineyards on red clayey sandstone soils. Red, rosé and white wines are produced. Well-known producers are Cave Coopérative de Saint-Gervais, Domaine le Baine and Domaine St-Anne.
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
