Saint-Maurice-sur-Eygues

Independent community area in the department Drôme in the southern French appellation Côtes du Rhône-Villages (see the AOC regulations there). The municipality may in addition since 1966 the name on the label this applies to red, rosé and white wines. The viticulture dates back to the Romans, at excavations were here amphorae, Coins and statues found. The vineyards cover 140 hectares of vineyards on calcareous and clayey soils. Well-known producers are Coopérative Vignerons of the Coteaux Saint-Maurice and Domaine de Deurre.
