It is organized annually in January on the weekend after its commemoration day, January 22, in different Burgundian communities. The origin of this traditional event dates back to the Middle Ages, as professional brotherhoods in many wine towns in the Burgundy emerged. After a decline in 1938, the Brotherhood Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin a revival started and the festival in for the first time Vougeot carried out. After the Second World War it became very important again. In addition to the traditional tastings, there is a procession, a service and the admission of new members to the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin. See also under wine Brotherhood,
