Non-alcoholic drink made from various fruit and vegetable juices in Mexico. It usually consists of half tomato juice and half orange juice and is seasoned with salt and pepper, lime and onion juice, Worcester and Tabasco. Sangrita is often served with tequila. It is also a frequent ingredient in cocktails and serves as an ingredient in spicy dishes. However, sangrita should not be confused with the Spanish sangria. See also under low and non-alcoholic.
