Santa Inés

The winery is located in Isla de Maipo (Talagante province) in the Valle Central in Chile. It was bought by Don Pietro De Martino in 1959. The family, who had immigrated from Italy, had been growing grapes on a neighbouring estate since the 1930s. Today it is run by the third and fourth generation of the family. The vineyards in the Maipo area cover 300 hectares in the El Arenal, Lonquén and Las Piedras vineyards. The red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Carmenère, Malbec (Cot), Petite Syrah (Durif) and Carignan Noir, as well as the white wine varieties Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay are cultivated. Since 2001, the vineyards have been cultivated according to the rules of organic viticulture certified by BCS Öko-Garantie. The wines are produced in the "E" (for enigmatic), "Reserva" and "State" lines.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
