Sauvignon Nepis

The white grape variety (breeding no. UD-55.098) is an interspecific new breeding between Sauvignon Blanc x Bianca. It contains genes from Vitis amurensis, Vitis berlandieri, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in 2002 in Italy by the breeders Simone Diego Castellarin, Guido Cipriani and Gabriele Di Gasparo. By the way, the variety Sauvignon Rytos was also created with the same parents. The medium-ripening vine is resistant to both kinds of mildew. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
