Sauvignon Rytos

The white grape variety (also UD-55.100) is an interspecific new breeding between Sauvignon Blanc x Bianca. It contains genes from Vitis berlandieri, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in 2002 in Italy by the breeders Simone Diego Castellarin, Guido Cipriani and Gabriele Di Gaspero. By the way, the variety Sauvignon Nepis was also created with the same parents. The medium-ripening vine is resistant to both mildew types but somewhat susceptible to botrytis. No stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
