DOC area for red wine, rosé and (only since 2011) white wine in the Italian region Calabria, The zone includes parts of the municipalities of Aiello Calabro, Altilia, Amantea, Belsito, Carpanzano, Cleto, Grimaldi, Malito, Marzi, Pedivigliano, Rogliano, Santo Stefano di Rogliano, Scigliano and Serra d'Aiello in the province of Cosenza, Conflenti, Martirano, Martirano Lombardo, Motta Santa Lucia, Nocera Terinese and San Mango d'Aquino in the province of Catanzaro. The Classico area for Rosso and Rosato includes the municipalities of Aiello Calabro, Altilia, Amantea, Belsito, Carpanzano, Cleto, Grimaldi, Malito, Marzi, Pedivigliano, Rogliano, Scigliano and Serra d'Aiello in the province of Cosenza. The vineyards are located on the slopes of the eponymous river Savuto and on the Tyrrhenian coast in partly very steep, mountainous locations.
