The white grape variety originates from Italy. Synonyms are Scarsa Foglia, Squarciafoglia and Uva Scarsafoglia. The parentage is unknown. The medium-maturing vine yields golden-yellow, fruity white wines with a slightly bitter taste. It is grown in small quantities in the province of Modena in the Emilia-Romagna region. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
