Canton with the eponymous capital in the northeast of the Switzerland, The vineyards cover about 500 hectares of vineyards in more than 20 municipalities and belong to the wine region German Switzerland, There are the five sub-areas Klettgau with Beringen, Gächlingen, Hallau (here is the largest contiguous Rebareal of German-speaking Switzerland with 150 hectares), Löhningen, Oberhallau, Osterfingen, Siblingen, Trasadingen and Wilchingen; Schaffhausen; Schaffhausen environment with Altdorf SH, Beaver SH, Dörflingen and Thayngen; Upper part of the canton with Stein am Rhein (where the Rhine flows out of Lake Constance again); as well as lower part of the canton with Buchberg and Rüdlingen.
