The Heinrich Schmitges winery is located in the municipality of Erden (Bernkastel area) in the German Moselle wine region. The family has been growing wine here since 1744. Since 1991 it has been managed by Andreas and Waltraud Schmitges. The vineyards comprise eight hectares of vineyards in the areas of Herrenberg, Prälat with vines over 70 years old and Treppchen (Erden). They are over 80% planted with Riesling, as well as some Rivaner and Weißburgunder. In suitable years, Prädikat wines up to Trockenbeerenauslese are also produced.
