Schömann Martin

The estate is located in the community Zeltingen (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle, The family has been running viticulture since the 16th century. For many decades, a 1998 shut down wine trade was operated. After a varied history in 1982, the company was taken over after its training as a wholesale merchant and winemaker Martin Schömann in a former size of 0.9 hectares. In its present form, the winery was founded in 1999. The vineyards cover 6.5 hectares of vineyards in the layers Great Lord (Wintrich), Johannisbrünnchen (Bernkastel), Heaven, Schlossberg and sundial (Zeltingen), as well Domprobst and Heaven (Graach). They are planted to 90% with the Riesling, and Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir. The wines are aged in large wooden barrels. Bottle-fermented sects and brandies are also produced.
