Schömann Martin

The estate is located in the commune of Zeltingen (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle, The family has been involved in viticulture since the 16th century. A wine store that was closed in 1998 was also operated for many decades. After a varied history, the company was taken over by Martin Schömann in 1982 after his training as a wholesale merchant and winemaker in a size of 0.9 hectares at that time. In its current form, the winery was founded in 1999. The vineyards cover 6.5 hectares of vineyards in the locations Großer Herrgott (Wintrich), Johannisbrünnchen (Bernkastel), Heaven, Schlossberg and sundial (Zeltingen), as well Domprobst and Heaven (Graach). 90% of them are planted with Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir. The wines are aged in large wooden barrels. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and brandies are also produced.
