Schulz Werner

The estate is located in the community Dobermannsdorf near Poysdorf in the northeast of the Lower Austrian winegrowing area Weinviertel, The family has been running viticulture since 1686. In 1970, Leopold and Marianne Schulz switched the company to quality wine growing. Since the year 2002 he is led by son Werner. The vineyards cover six hectares of vineyards. They are the white varieties Grüner Veltliner (30%), Pinot Blanc (10%), Welschriesling (10%), Rheinriesling (5%) and Rivaner (4%), as well as the red varieties Zweigelt (16%), Blauburger (12% ), Cabernet Sauvignon (9%) and Merlot (4%). In addition, one hectare of grapes are purchased. It is consistently practiced near-natural wine with low yields. The Classic white wines are fermented under temperature control in stainless steel tanks. This includes, for example, the " Weinviertel DAC Hammer". The Selections wines are developed according to international stylistics with barrique and malolactic. The red wines mature for at least a year in large oak barrels or the premium wines for 16 or 24 months in barriques. In appropriate years, an ice wine is also pressed. The annual production is around 300 hl. It also produces a red wine liqueur.
