The winery is located in the municipality of Bruttig-Fankel (Burg Cochem area) in the German wine-growing region of Mosel. The traditional family has been growing grapes here since 1625. The vineyards cover almost three hectares of vineyards in the single vineyards Götterlay, Pfarrgarten and Rathausberg (Bruttig), Herrenberg (Valwig), and Rosenberg (Fankel). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling (85%), Müller-Thurgau and Elbling. Some of these are grown on the terraced steep slopes ungrafted. The vineyards are consistently cultivated in a natural, environmentally friendly way. The wines are fermented spontaneously exclusively with the vineyard's own yeasts and are matured in steel tanks or 1,000-litre barrels, mostly in dry and fine-bodied wines. In years when the weather is suitable, there are also noble sweet Trockenbeerenauslesen and ice wines. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, noble brandies (marc, yeast, wine), liqueurs, wine vinegars and grape juice are also produced. Around 35,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
