Sechterl

In the Austrian Weinviertel region, a small copper vessel for wine or oil. After pressing, the ampere was filled with it, which was then used to transport the grape must to the barrel in the wine cellar. The name is derived from the Sechter (Sister, Sester, Vierling), a German grain measure in southern Germany. See also under Wine Vessels and Customs in Viticulture.
