The white grape variety is a new breed between Roter Traminer ( Gewurztraminer ) x Müller-Thurgau what was released through 2012 DNA analysis has been confirmed. Incidentally, the varieties are from the same pair of parents pearl and Würzer emerged. The cross was made in 1927 by Georg Shy (1879-1949) at the State Institute for Vine Breeding in Alzey ( Rheinland-Pfalz ). The vine produces rather low-acid wines. But it has not prevailed; in 2010, only two hectares were left in Rheinhessen expelled.
