Sernauberg

Vineyard or site (also Sernau) in the municipality of Gamlitz (cadastral municipality of Sernau) in the Austrian wine-growing region of South Styria. The southeast-facing vineyards with slopes of up to 70% are situated at an altitude of up to 425 metres above sea level and form a basin. The subsoils consist of coral limestone and partly gravel with layers of sand and clay and have an excellent water storage capacity. The white wine varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Gelber Muskateller, Welschriesling, Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) and Riesling are cultivated here. The wineries Hagen Holger, Lackner-Tinnacher, Masser Peter, Sattlerhof, Söll Maria & Johannes and Tement Manfred have shares in the vineyard.
