The white grape variety (also Semis de Malingre) originates from Russia. It is an open-pollinated seedling of the Précoce de Malingre variety. The vine was selected in Russia in 1910 by the famous botanist Ivan Mitschurin (1855-1935). It is an all-female grape variety, which is why it depends on cross-pollination. It was a crossing partner in the new varieties Mitschurinski, Severny, Vympel and Zarya Severa. The variety is mainly used as table grape. No stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
