Seyve-Villard 12-481

The white grape variety (also SV 12-481) is an interspecific new breeding between Seibel 6468 x Seibel 6746, containing genes of Vitis berlandieri, Vitis labrusca, Vitis lincecumii, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera. The crossing of the fungus-resistant hybrids was carried out at the beginning of the 20th century by Bertille Seyve (1864-1939) at the Seyve-Villard vine nursery, using creations by Albert Seibel (1844-1936). The variety was a cross-breeding partner for the Freiburg new varieties Donauriesling, Helios (1), Johanniter. In 2016 no stock was recorded (Kym Anderson).
