The white grape variety (also Pucalla) comes from Albania
; the name means "White Shesh". It is named after the municipality of Shesh west of Tirana. Whether a connection to the red variety Shesh i Zi
exists is DNA standard
(still) not clarified. The late-ripening vine is cultivated west of the capital in the center of the country, where together with the Shesh i Zi it makes up around one third of the Albanian population.
