Single Christian

The vintner Christian Single (1816-1869), born in a family of winegrowers, was a municipal councilor in Stuttgart between 1851 and 1869. Among other things, he was co-founder of the Weingärtner singing society Urbania in Stuttgart, member of the board of the Society for Wine Improvement in Württemberg, member of the agricultural district association in Stuttgart, 1st chairman of the goods property association Stuttgart with responsibility for a sample vineyard, as well as migrant teachers for wine districts in Württemberg. From 1852 he took wine-based information trips to the Rhine and Moselle, and from 1857 in the southwestern Switzerland, Lake Geneva, Tyrol and Austria.
