Siramé

The red grape variety (also Salomé) is an interspecific new variety. The hybrid was crossed at the end of the 1970s by Anton Meier at the Meier nursery in Würenlingen (Switzerland). European and American species were involved, with a Seyve-Villard cross being a dominant parent. The early maturing vine is resistant to common mildew. It produces neutral red wines. The variety was cultivated in 2016 by only one producer in the Swiss canton of Zurich on 0.3 hectares. Smallest stocks are also said to exist in Denmark and Sweden (Kym Anderson).
