The white grape variety is an interspecific new breeding between Saperavi Severny x (Pinot Noir x Amurensis). It contains genes from Vitis amurensis and Vitis vinifera. The crossing of the frost-hardy hybrid was done by Ya. I. Potapenko in Rostov, Russia. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
