The winery is located in the municipality Gamlitz
(Eckberg), directly on the South Styrian Wine Route in the winegrowing area südsteiermark
(Austria). It is operated by Walter Skoff in the fourth generation of the family. The wines are exclusively vinified by Walter Skoff and his son Joachim. The vines grow exclusively on slopes, whereby the grapes can produce typical flavors of the highest maturity. In 1997, a new cellar was opened, consisting of both a traditional part with old handmade bricks from the 19th century, and a part with the latest technology. The vineyards cover 38 hectares of their own vineyards in, for example, the vineyards Grassnitzberg
, Hochsulz (only Sauvignon Blanc) and Obegg
(6.5 ha Sauvignon Blanc, 0.5 ha Pinot Blanc) They are planted with the varieties Welschriesling, Muscat, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Zweigelt. There are 90% white and 10% red wines produced in two lines. The line "Classique" stands for wines with fruitiness, while there are different types of expansion in the Sauvignon Blanc and partly Chardonnay. The top line is called "Royal", these wines are aged in oak barrels. The flagship is the "Sauvingon Blanc Royal", which is only vinified according to vintage. It also Trockenbeerenauslese, brandies (pure pomace brandies, fruit brandies) and Winzersekte (Primissimo) are produced.
