The winery is located in the municipality of Gamlitz (Eckberg), directly on the South Styrian Wine Route in the South Styrian wine growing region (Austria). It is run by Walter Skoff in the fourth generation of the family. The wines are exclusively vinified by Walter Skoff and his son Joachim. The vines grow exclusively on hillsides, which allows the grapes to produce aromas typical of the area at the highest level of maturity. In 1997 a new cellar was opened, which consists of a traditional part with old handmade bricks from the 19th century and a part with modern technology. The vineyards cover 38 hectares of our own vineyards, for example Grassnitzberg, Hochsulz (only Sauvignon Blanc) and Obegg (6.5 ha Sauvignon Blanc, 0.5 ha Pinot Blanc). They are planted with the varieties Welschriesling, Muskateller, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Zweigelt. 90% white and 10% red wines are produced in two lines. The "Classique" line stands for wines with fruitiness, with Sauvignon Blanc and, in part, Chardonnay, there are different types of maturation. The top line is called "Royal", these wines are aged in barrique. The flagship is the "Sauvingon Blanc Royal", which is only vinified depending on the vintage. Also produced are Trockenbeerenauslese, noble brandies (marc brandies, fruit brandies) and winegrower sparkling wines (Primissimo).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
