Skopelitiko

The red variety comes from Greece, Synonyms are Scopelitico and Skopelitis. The late-ripening vine is well resistant to fungal diseases, It produces dark-colored, tannin-rich red wines with moderate acidity and a rustic touch. The name indicates the Sporades island Skópelos, from where the sort of monks to the island Corfu (Kerkyra) was brought. Here it is cultivated in the center and in the south.
